Aperture 3.0.1 update out

For those of you that updated to version 3 of Aperture an update was just released fixing a number of issues. Go grab it from your software update! or click the link below to download manually.

Here is the breakdown of the changes:

This update improves overall stability and addresses a number of issues in Aperture 3, including:

  • Upgrading libraries from earlier versions of Aperture
  • Importing libraries from iPhoto
  • Importing photos directly from a camera
  • Memory usage when processing heavily-retouched photos
  • Face recognition processing
  • Adding undetected faces using the Add Missing Face button
  • Printing pages containing multiple images
  • Printing photos and contact sheets with borders and metadata
  • Editing photos using an external editor
  • Display of images with Definition and Straighten adjustments applied
  • Zooming photos in the Viewer and in the Loupe using keyboard shortcuts
  • Accessing Aperture libraries on a network volume Selecting and moving pins on the Places map
  • Adding and editing custom locations using the Manage My Places window
  • Switching between masters when working with RAW+JPEG pairs.

How to integrate Facebook with iChat

Now that Facebook supports Jabber you can integrate it into your favorite IM Client. Here is how to set it up.

1. You need to find your Facebook username by going to http://www.facebook.com/your_user/

2. Then you can open up iChat and under the Preferences Menu your going to click on the Accounts tab and setup a new Jabber Account



3. The Account name is your_user@chat.facebook.com and then you need to enter you Facebook Password

4. Finally you need to click the little drop down arrow which you can see in the photo and for the Server Name you need to put chat.facebook.com and in the Port column enter 5222 and then click Done.

5. You are now communicating with your buddy in high school that your not sure you want to be able to talk to whenever you want...

Apple releases Mac Pro Audio Update 1.0

This small but timely update addresses the issues many Mac Pro users were having when processing audio. Go grab it now in your Software update window.

Details from Apple:
This update is for Mac Pro (Early 2009) computers running Mac OS X v10.6.2. This update reduces processor utilization during audio activities, such as playing or recording music.

Apple releases Aperture 3

Today Apple updating there Aperture product line with over 200 new features!! The whole application got a huge makeover and a bunch of iPhoto features were integrated within the app as well making this a very powerful tool for organizing, editing, and working with your Photos and Videos. iPhone OS 3.1.3 Released

Plug in your iPhones and you'll find the latest version of the iPhone software has been bumped up to 3.1.3.

Here are the changes

This update for iPhone and iPod touch contains bug fixes and improvements, including the following:

▪Improves the accuracy of reported battery level on iPhone 3GS
▪Resolves issue where third-party apps would not launch in some instances
▪Fixes bug that may cause an app to crash when using the Japanese Kana keyboard

iMac 27" Display Firmware Update Released

This update hopefully fixes the issues customers are having with the new 27" iMac displays.

Apple releases iTunes 9.0.3

Apple just released iTunes 9.0.3 and it provides a number of bug fixes:
  • iTunes no longer ignores your “Remember password for purchases” setting.
  • Addresses problems with syncing some Smart Playlists and Podcasts with iPod.
  • Resolves a problem recognizing when iPod is connected.
  • Addresses issues that affect stability and performance
