A handy little application that can do it all. This can be an extreme time saver when finding, opening or navigating your system. A simple task like opening an application or trying to find a contact or file is just a couple clicks away. You can customize the application and setup hot keys or gestures for any combination to meet your needs. It also just idles in the background on your Mac not taking up any system resources and ready at the click of a button.

One handy Application and its "FREE"

We wonder how we ever got along without this one... that program is called Growl, and what this program does is make your life very simple. It’s essentially a notification system for your Mac. Let me give you an example if your confused. Let’s say an email comes in and instead of going over to your dock to read it..a window appears with the message on your desktop and when clicked on you can reply..delete etc! So without even going over to your Mail Application you just answered an email. It supports several other popular third party applications and in my opinion is a must have! Check it out

Free System Monitoring Tool

If you don’t already have this widget I highly recommend downloading iStat Pro. Its a free widget that monitors all your systems vital statistics. If you don’t like widgets you can download iStat Menu which sits in your Menu Bar. It's extremely important if issues do come up with your machine that this be one of the first places you check to see what's going on. You will get in the habit of checking your System Stats periodically which is a great routine to get in to.
